About the role

The Medical Records Officer provides accurate and timely medical record and patient registration services across hospital departments. The role contributes to the effective operation of the Medical Records team through maintaining record integrity, managing electronic and physical records, scanning, auditing, filing, and ensuring compliance with departmental KPIs while delivering a high-quality, responsive service.

Key duties of the role

Assist with the provision of an efficient and effective medical record management service
Maintain patient confidentiality by securely managing medical records in line with legislative and organisational requirements
Maintain accurate patient records through timely updates, record management, and precise electronic document scanning
Provide accurate and timely patient registration and reception services within the Medical Records Department
Contribute to the provision of accurate and timely medical record services while supporting a positive and safe work environment

Skills and Experience

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service and confidentiality.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
Ability to manage multiple tasks, adapt to changing priorities, and complete duties accurately.
Understanding of confidentiality, information security, and safe work practices within a health setting.
