Your new role:
As a Research Assistant within Queensland Tissue Bank, you will play a vital role in supporting innovative research projects focused on tissue products, advanced manufacturing processes and emerging healthcare technologies. Working closely with researchers, scientists and clinicians, you will assist with data collection, laboratory activities, research administration and project coordination to ensure studies are delivered safely, accurately and in accordance with regulatory requirements.
In this varied role, you will:
Support multiple research projects involving human tissue products and processes
Assist with data collection, analysis and maintenance of research databases
Maintain accurate research documentation, case report forms and study records
Work with specialised laboratory equipment and research technologies
Contribute to the development of new tissue products and manufacturing processes
About you:
You are a motivated and organised research professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and contributing to projects that improve healthcare outcomes. You bring strong analytical skills, attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality research practices.
You will demonstrate:
Qualifications in Medical Laboratory Science, Allied Health or a related discipline
Previous clinical research experience (highly desirable)
Strong data collection, analysis and record management skills
Experience working with laboratory equipment or clinical research processes
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking capabilities

QTB performs all stages of tissue procurement including donor identification, screening and consent; and all stages of tissue preparation including retrieval, processing, storage, dispatch, and quality management. Banked tissues include bone, skin, eye, and heart valves. Of the Australian states, Queensland has the largest tissue bank and provides therapeutic tissue products for both local and interstate use. QTB plays a part in informing both state and national policy on tissue banking.
