Full job description

Experienced Medical Receptionist – Part-Time

We are seeking a friendly, professional and highly organised Medical Receptionist to join our busy and supportive general practice team on a part-time basis.

The successful candidate will be confident working in a fast-paced GP clinic and committed to providing excellent service to patients, doctors and colleagues.

Essential requirements:

  • Previous reception experience in a GP medical practice
  • Strong working knowledge of Best Practice software
  • Experience with Medicare billing, private billing and payment processing
  • Excellent communication and customer-service skills
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask
  • Professional, reliable and compassionate manner
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Understanding of patient confidentiality and privacy requirements

Key responsibilities:

  • Managing appointments, telephone calls and patient enquiries
  • Greeting patients and maintaining an efficient reception area
  • Processing Medicare and private billings accurately
  • Taking payments and reconciling daily transactions
  • Scanning, filing and managing correspondence
  • Supporting doctors and clinical staff with administrative duties
  • Maintaining accurate and confidential patient records
