Full job description

Gratitude in Home Care is looking for compassionate, reliable and experienced Assistants in Nursing (AINs) to join our growing team and support clients across the Darwin area.

This is a rewarding opportunity for an AIN who enjoys working in the community and is passionate about providing safe, respectful and person-centred care that supports each client's independence, dignity and wellbeing.

About the Role

As an AIN, you will provide practical, person-centred support to clients in their homes and community in accordance with their individual care and support plans.

Working as part of a broader care team, you will help clients maintain their independence, safety and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care and assistance with activities of daily living
  • Assist with showering, dressing, grooming and toileting
  • Support mobility, transfers and positioning in accordance with care plans
  • Assist with meals, nutrition and hydration as required
  • Observe and report changes in a client's health, behaviour or wellbeing
  • Provide companionship and emotional support
  • Support clients to access their community and attend appointments where required
  • Follow individual care plans, clinical instructions, policies and procedures
  • Work collaboratively with nurses, families and other health professionals
  • Complete accurate and timely care documentation
  • Maintain client privacy, dignity, choice and confidentiality
  • Escalate concerns or changes in a client's condition appropriately

About You

We are looking for people who are:

  • Strong communicators who can work effectively with clients, families and the broader care team
  • Able to work independently while following care plans and clinical instructions
  • Flexible and adaptable to different client needs
  • Committed to providing safe and high-quality care

Previous experience in aged care, disability, community care or home care is highly regarded.

Essential Requirements

  • Certificate III in Individual Support, Health Services Assistance, Aged Care or equivalent relevant qualification
  • Previous experience in a care, AIN or similar support role
  • Current National Police Check
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification
  • Current NT Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card)
  • Infection Prevention and Control training
  • Current Australian Driver's Licence
  • Access to a reliable, insured vehicle
  • Ability to meet all relevant pre-employment and worker screening requirements
