At TAFE NSW, we are dedicated to life-changing impact.

Life-changing impact starts with an incredible team that sees their career as an opportunity to transform someone’s world. Whether that’s inspiring students, supporting each other, or helping our communities and industries flourish.

We invest in our people
At TAFE NSW, you will discover a diverse, dynamic, and collaborative environment, where you can innovate, create value, and do meaningful work.
We provide you with tools, ongoing training and professional development, health and wellbeing programs, and a variety of flexible working options.
About the role
We are seeking Education Support Officers on a casual basis to play a vital role in creating a welcoming and supportive environment for TAFE NSW students across all courses at the following campus locations:
- Boggabilla
- Bourke
- Brewarrina
- Menindee
- Nyngan
- Warren
- Wilcannia
This role focuses on general education support rather than a single subject area, ensuring every student feels valued and equipped for success. You will greet and assist students onsite, participate in orientation activities, and provide ongoing education support and pastoral care throughout their learning journey. Your responsibilities include helping students navigate technology, access resources, and progress in their studies, all while fostering an inclusive and encouraging atmosphere.
This is a hands-on, campus-based role that cannot be performed remotely, and is central to ensuring local students have the tools and confidence to achieve their goals.
Note: This role does not teach or prepare lessons or resources and does not deliver training nor undertake assessment.
For more information on the duties or hours of work, please contact Melanie Pennell (contact details below).
About You
You are an approachable and empathetic individual with strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building positive relationships with students from diverse backgrounds. Patience and a genuine commitment to student success are essential, along with the ability to deliver exceptional customer service. You have experience providing support in dynamic environments, adapting quickly and responding to changing needs. You are proficient using a range of technology and can confidently support students with Microsoft Office and other programs, demonstrating capability to troubleshoot and learn new tools as needed.
To be successful in this role, you must hold a vocational qualification at Certificate III level or higher in any discipline, demonstrating that you’ve successfully navigated the adult or tertiary education process yourself. Your adaptability, initiative, and ability to motivate and encourage learners will make you an invaluable part of the TAFE NSW team.
