About Monash Health Pathology Service
Alfred Health and Monash Health have established a formal partnership to deliver a shared Pathology Service as one of two new pathology networks for metropolitan Melbourne. All roles in the Pathology Programs are working to develop the partnership and ensure we continue to provide high quality care for patients across health services. Monash Health Pathology is an integral part of Monash Health, it is the largest public provider of Pathology services in the state, and currently operates 6 laboratories. The largest of these laboratories is located at Monash Medical Centre, Clayton, with additional laboratories located at Dandenong, Moorabbin, Casey, Victorian Heart Hospital and Wonthaggi Hospitals. There are currently 18 collection locations based within the hospital sites and community settings with services being provided to the Public and Private sectors as well as other laboratory services.
About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and detail-orientated Laboratory Assistant to join the Microbiology department at our Clayton site in an on-going part-time position. As part of a collaborative and professional laboratory team, you will play an important role in the processing and analysis of clinical specimens while ensuring compliance with quality, safety and accreditation standards. Our laboratory operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and successful applicants will participate in a rotating roster that includes evening and weekend shifts
About You
Qualifications:
Previous laboratory experience would be seen aa advantageous.
Training will be provided.
Technical skills/ knowledge/ experience:
Ability to work autonomously.
Ability to complete tasks accurately.
Good communication skills.
Participate in training programs and satisfy the competency levels required for the performance of duties.
Has a positive "can do attitude".
Willingly shifts focus when priorities or circumstances change.
Able to follow direction from Management.
Maintain professional standards.
Takes responsibility for ensuring own learning outcomes are applied and integrated into the work palces.
