The Online Youth Peer Worker – MOST Trials delivers peer support to young people participating in Orygen Digital’s Research Trials delivered through the Moderated Online Social Therapy (MOST) platform.

About the job
The Online Youth Peer Worker – MOST Trials delivers peer support to young people participating in Orygen Digital’s Research Trials delivered through the Moderated Online Social Therapy (MOST) platform.
Reporting to the Research Fellow you will:
- Provide online peer support to young people participating in digital mental health research trials, including one-on-one and group support, platform navigation, and engagement activities.
- Apply lived experience to empower young people to build self-care skills, strengthen wellbeing, and navigate their mental health journey through peer-led support.
- Support participant safety and wellbeing by identifying and escalating risk concerns, adhering to clinical, safety and confidentiality protocols, and collaborating with clinical and research teams.
- Create and contribute lived-experience content for the online community, while gathering and sharing participant feedback to inform ongoing service and platform improvements.
- Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to foster a safe, inclusive and engaging online community, participating in supervision, continuous improvement initiatives, and best-practice service delivery.
The following criteria must be met for consideration for this position:
- Aged between 18 and 30 years for the duration of their employment term.
- Intentional Peer Support Training (or completing it) is highly desirable.
- Ability to professionally apply lived experience of mental health challenges and recovery to support and engage young people.
- Strong understanding of peer work principles, youth mental health, and navigating health, treatment, and support systems.
- Proficient in digital technologies, including Microsoft Office, Zoom, online platforms, social media, and digital engagement tools.
