Full job description
Brisbane Water Bitumen is an established civil construction and asphalt company servicing councils, commercial clients, strata properties and residential projects across the Central Coast and surrounding regions.
Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and organised Civil Construction Project Coordinator to join our team.
About the Role
The Project Coordinator will assist with the planning, scheduling and delivery of civil construction, asphalt, roadworks and maintenance projects.
You will work closely with management, project engineers, supervisors, site crews, subcontractors, suppliers and clients to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate civil construction, asphalt and road maintenance projects from commencement through to completion.
- Prepare and maintain project schedules, daily work programs and crew allocations.
- Coordinate labour, machinery, materials, subcontractors and deliveries.
- Liaise with clients, councils, suppliers, subcontractors and site personnel.
- Review job scopes, drawings, specifications, work orders and project requirements.
- Arrange site inspections, pre-start meetings and project documentation.
- Monitor project progress, costs, variations and timelines.
- Assist with preparing quotations, purchase orders and subcontractor documentation.
- Maintain accurate project records, site reports, photos and completion documents.
- Ensure SWMS, permits, traffic management plans and safety requirements are in place.
- Follow up outstanding approvals, work orders and client instructions.
- Coordinate invoicing information and confirm completed works with the accounts team.
- Identify project risks, delays and operational issues and report them to management.
- Assist with procurement of asphalt, road base, concrete, emulsion and other construction materials.
- Support supervisors and site crews with day-to-day operational requirements.
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in civil construction, roadworks, asphalt or infrastructure projects.
- Experience in a Project Coordinator, Site Coordinator, Project Administrator or similar role.
- Strong planning, organisation and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities.
- Good understanding of construction site operations and WHS requirements.
- Ability to read construction drawings, scopes of work and specifications.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and project management systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and record-keeping skills.
- Current Australian driver licence.
- White Card.
- Full Australian working rights.
Desirable
- Qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or a related field.
- Experience working on council or government infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of asphalt paving, road resurfacing, excavation, drainage, kerb and gutter or concrete works.
- Experience preparing project claims, variations, progress reports and cost tracking.
- Traffic Control or Implement Traffic Management Plans qualifications.
