The Decorative and Visual Experts – The Dave Sydney specialise in creating standout Christmas displays, event styling, decorative installations and visual experiences across Sydney and surrounding areas.

From large-scale corporate Christmas displays and shopping centre installations through to residential Christmas lighting, private events, activations and styled spaces, our team works behind the scenes to transform spaces and bring creative concepts to life.

With our busiest time of the year approaching, we’re looking for reliable, hardworking, creative and hands-on people to join our Christmas Decorators & Installation Crew.

About the Role

This is a casual seasonal position with an immediate start, with work increasing significantly throughout our peak Christmas installation period.

You’ll work alongside our team across a range of projects including:

• Corporate Christmas installations
• Shopping centre displays
• Residential Christmas lighting
• Christmas tree decorating
• Event styling and installations
• Decorative lighting
• Warehouse preparation
• Deliveries, set-ups and pack-downs

Our work doesn’t always happen during standard business hours, so applicants must be comfortable with a flexible roster that can include early mornings, evenings, overnight shifts and weekends.

Shifts will vary depending on the project.

While these roles are initially seasonal, there may also be opportunities for ongoing casual work across future events, styling projects and installations for the right people.

What You’ll Be Doing

Depending on the project, your work may include:

• Assisting with Christmas installations across corporate spaces, shopping centres, residential properties, venues and other locations
• Setting up and decorating Christmas trees
• Installing ornaments, garlands, wreaths and other Christmas décor
• Installing and arranging Christmas tree lighting, fairy lights and decorative lighting
• Assisting with residential Christmas lighting installations
• Installing props, displays, decorations and other visual elements
• Assisting with event styling and venue transformations
• Following styling concepts, design plans and client requirements
• Preparing, organising, packing and loading stock for upcoming installations
• Handling and transporting decorations, furniture, props and styling equipment
• Loading and unloading vehicles
• Assisting with deliveries and collections
• Assisting with installation pack-downs
• Maintaining and organising stock within the warehouse
• Adapting to changes and additional requirements that may arise on site
• Working efficiently to meet installation deadlines
• Maintaining a high standard of presentation and workmanship
• Following safe work practices at all times
• Communicating professionally with team members, clients, venue representatives and suppliers

What You’ll Have

We’re looking for people who enjoy the hands-on side of the job but also appreciate the creative detail that goes into producing a great-looking installation.

Ideally, you’ll bring:

• A natural flair for design and styling
• A strong eye for detail, balance and presentation
• A genuine love of Christmas decorating, styling and design
• An appreciation for colour, lighting, texture and visual presentation
• Pride in producing polished, professional-looking displays
• The ability to follow a design concept and styling direction
• Initiative and the confidence to solve practical problems on site
• A creative mindset and enthusiasm for transforming spaces
• A willingness to learn and contribute as part of the wider installation and styling team

Essential Requirements

To be considered for these roles, you must have:

• Your own reliable transport
• A current White Card – essential
• Good spoken English and the ability to understand instructions clearly
• Availability for an immediate start
• Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, nights and weekends
• Availability for long shifts during peak periods
• The physical ability to lift, carry, move and install decorations, props and equipment
• The ability to remain on your feet and undertake physical work for extended periods
• A reliable, punctual and hardworking attitude
• The ability to work well as part of a team
• Good organisation and time management skills
• The ability to work efficiently when deadlines are tight
• A professional and respectful approach when working at client sites and public locations

Previous Experience – A Big Plus

Previous experience in any of the following will be highly regarded:

• Christmas installations and decorating
• Christmas tree assembly, lighting and decorating
• Residential or commercial Christmas lighting
• Decorative or event lighting installation
• Event styling and event installations
• Visual merchandising
• Interior, spatial or display design
• Prop styling and decorative installations
• Set building or display construction
• Warehousing or logistics
• Trade, construction or other hands-on installation work

Experience working with Christmas tree lights, fairy lights, decorative lighting, garlands, ornaments and large-scale Christmas displays would be a definite advantage.
