Casual Warehouse Assistant (eCommerce Pick & Pack) – With Growth Opportunities

Hours: Casual, minimum 3 days per week (5–7 hour shifts) – Mondays essential

SWAMP is a Canberra-based importer and retailer of audio cables, musical instruments and pro audio gear. We develop our own SWAMP product range, import leading brands, and sell to customers all over Australia via our eCommerce store, as well as through our Fyshwick retail showroom and trade customers. About the role

We are looking for a reliable Casual Warehouse Assistant to join our team and support the daily pick and pack operations for our busy eCommerce business.

The core of this role is in the warehouse - picking, packing and organising orders accurately and efficiently, especially on Mondays, which is our busiest dispatch day.

For the right person with an interest in music gear, there is also potential to grow into extra hours and additional duties, including returns processing, basic product testing and retail showroom sales support.

Key responsibilities

Core warehouse duties (main focus):

• Pick and pack online orders accurately using our systems and smartphone apps
• Prepare parcels for dispatch (packing, labeling, staging for courier pickup)
• Assist with receiving stock and putting goods away into warehouse locations
• Move stock between bulk and pick locations and help keep shelves organised
• General warehouse housekeeping such as sweeping and keeping work areas tidy

Potential additional duties (depending on skills and interest):

• Assist with processing returns, including checking items, basic product testing and recording results in our systems
• Help in our retail showroom during busy periods or when staff are away, including greeting customers and providing basic product assistance (training provided)
• Support simple admin tasks related to orders, returns and stock when required

Availability and hours

• Must be available every Monday for a 5–7 hour shift (our peak dispatch day)
• Minimum 3 days per week (5–7 hour shifts), with other days by agreement
• Usual working window is between 10:00am and 6:00pm (exact shift times can be discussed)
• Extra hours are often available in busy periods such as sales events and big stock arrivals
• There may be opportunities to move into part-time or full-time hours for someone who shows initiative and has good knowledge or passion for musical equipment

Who we are looking for

• Reliable, punctual and happy to work in a team environment
• Strong attention to detail - you care about getting orders right the first time
• Comfortable with physical work including lifting and moving boxes
• Basic computer and smartphone skills (we use cloud systems and apps daily)
• Clear communication skills with other team members
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn our systems and processes

Highly regarded (but not essential):

• Interest in music, audio gear or musical instruments
• Experience in warehousing, pick/pack, retail or eCommerce
• Confidence to talk to customers in a retail or showroom environment
