4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships with staff, students, parents, suppliers and external stakeholders while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
Role
This is a full-time ongoing position. Attendance is required Monday to Friday during school terms in accordance with the school's operating hours.
The School Administration Officer ¿ Finance and Daily Organisation plays a key role in supporting the effective day-to-day operations of the school by coordinating daily staffing requirements, managing financial administration processes and providing high-quality administrative support. The position is responsible for overseeing daily organisation, including the coordination of Casual Relief Teachers (CRTs), maintaining accurate financial records, processing accounts payable, completing bank reconciliations and supporting human resources administration. The role requires excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, sound judgement, confidentiality and the ability to build positive working relationships with staff, students, families and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
The School Administration Officer ¿ Finance and Daily Organisation is responsible for coordinating daily staffing operations, managing casual relief teacher (CRT) arrangements and providing financial administration support to ensure the efficient operation of the school. The role requires strong organisational, communication and financial management skills, with responsibility for daily workforce coordination, accounts payable functions, bank reconciliation and general administrative support.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinate the school's daily organisation, including arranging and allocating casual relief teachers (CRTs) and managing staff absences.
- Liaise with staff, leadership and external agencies to ensure appropriate staffing coverage for daily operations.
- Process accounts payable, including purchase orders, invoices and supplier payments in accordance with Department policies and school procedures.
- Complete bank reconciliations, monitor financial transactions and assist in maintaining accurate financial records.
- Support budget administration and prepare financial reports as required.
- Maintain confidential employee, payroll and financial records with a high level of accuracy.
- Provide administrative support for human resources processes, including employment documentation, contracts and onboarding where required.
- Respond to enquiries from staff, parents, suppliers and external stakeholders in a professional and timely manner.
- Assist with payroll administration and other school business management functions as directed.
- Maintain effective office systems, filing and record management practices.
- Ensure compliance with Department of Education policies, financial procedures and relevant legislation.
- Undertake other administrative and finance duties as directed by the Principal or Business Manager to support the effective operation of the school.
