Casual Chef – Flip Out Box Hill

Join the Flip Out Crew!
Flip Out Box Hill is looking for a reliable Casual Chef to keep our café running smoothly and cater for birthday parties and group bookings. This casual role is perfect for someone who enjoys a fast-paced, high-energy environment and can commit to working every weekend.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook menu items to Flip Out's quality and presentation standards
  • Manage food prep, cooking, and plating during busy service periods
  • Prepare and coordinate party food packages for birthday parties and group bookings, ensuring timely delivery to party rooms
  • Monitor stock levels and place supply orders as needed
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe kitchen in line with food safety regulations
  • Ensure proper food storage, labelling, and rotation (FIFO)
  • Manage kitchen equipment and report any maintenance issues
  • Support front-of-house/café staff during peak times to keep service flowing
  • Liaise with party hosts/front desk on food timing and any dietary requirements

What You'll Bring

  • Prior experience as a chef or cook (café, casual dining, or similar fast-paced kitchen preferred)
  • Experience catering for events, parties, or functions is a plus
  • Strong time management skills and ability to stay calm under pressure
  • Good understanding of food safety and hygiene standards, including allergen awareness
  • Team player with a positive, can-do attitude
  • Comfortable working in a busy, family-friendly environment

Employment Type
Casual — availability required every weekend (Saturday & Sunday), with additional shifts based on business needs.
