Position Summary:

We are looking for a friendly, responsible, and customer-focused Casual Post Office & Tatts Lottery Officer to join our small team. This is a dual-role position within a local community store that offers both Australia Post and Tatts Lottery services. The successful candidate will work approximately 15 hours per week, assisting with daily operations including mail services, banking, retail sales, and lottery transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

Post Office Duties:

• Deliver friendly and professional customer service.
• Process mail and parcel lodgements, collections, and returns.
• Conduct banking transactions for customers of major Australian banks.
• Sell postage, packaging supplies, greeting cards, and retail merchandise.
• Maintain accurate records and operate point-of-sale (POS) systems.
• Ensure compliance with Australia Post policies and security procedures.

Tatts Lottery Duties:

• Operate the Tatts terminal in line with company policies and responsible gambling practices.
• Sell lottery tickets, instant scratch-its, syndicates, and other Tatts products.
• Validate and pay winning tickets according to guidelines.
• Reconcile daily lottery sales and maintain accurate cash handling procedures.
• Promote current Tatts games and jackpots to customers.
• Ensure the lottery area is clean, secure, and well-presented at all times.

• Friendly and approachable with strong customer service skills
• Honest, reliable and able to work independently
• Comfortable handling cash, working with technology and following procedures
• Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a busy retail setting
• Good communication and basic computer skills
• Flexible availability to cover occasional extra shifts if needed

Requirements:

• Must be 18 years or older (for Tatts terminal operation)
• Willing to undertake Australia Post and Tatts training/accreditation
• Ability to stand for long periods and perform light lifting
• Previous retail, post office or Tatts experience is essential.
