CNC Operator

A CNC Operator would typically load the CNC Flat Bed Machine and ensure that it is correctly calibrated and cutting as per the cutting list.

Effectively and efficiently operate the CNC machine in accordance to the daily worklist with minimal supervision and ensuring a level of competence.

Ensure the safety systems of the machine are fully operational at all times before commencing machining.

Verify the accuracy of machine settings to detect malfunctions and inaccuracy.

Edit CNC programs where required to ensure efficient use of machines.

Troubleshooting of manufacturing problems.

Complete quality control checks.

Ensure compliance with company quality, health and safety policies and procedures as per the OH&S manual available

Minimum Qualifications

CNC Machine certification

Certificate III in Furniture Making (Cabinet Making) preferred but not essential

Forklift Licence

White Card

About the Role:As a CNC Operator, you will be responsible for operating client's Ficep Gemini and other CNC Plate Processing machines. Reporting to the Processing Coordinator, you will also be responsible for the following:

Loading, unloading, and monitoring steel plates

Monitoring consumables stock levels

Interpreting and understanding engineered drawings

Measuring and recording processed sizes within required tolerances

Monitoring progress against delivery schedules

Maintaining equipment and machinery in accordance with QC standards

Testing and calibrating equipment under relevant supervision

Ensuring that tools and equipment are clean, complete, and safe.

1. Setting-up and manage CNC machines and other equipment to perform different jobs including drilling, grinding and milling.

2. Read and Interpret engineering drawings and requirements and translate them into dimensions for production.

3. Choose suitable material and monitor the machining process

4. Producing and assembling metal parts and components for engineering equipment

5. Using precision measuring instruments and record various stages of production.

6. Performing quality control checks on the final workpiece

7. Using stock material to process parts in order to fabricate the final products.

8. Cutting, threading, bending and installing hydraulic and pneumatic parts

9. Conduct regular checks and assessments of the machinery to guarantee functionality.

About you

· Qualification:Relevant Vocational or above engineering qualification
