Karratha will be your home branch and you will travel to clients based in the Pilbara as required.     Primary Purpose

  • To co-ordinate and manage the delivery of scheduled services and daily breakdowns of all on farm machinery and implements
  • Manage a workshop team inclusive of a qualified mechanic, apprentice and workshop hand.

  • Supervision of staff within the workshop area and on mobile sites
  • Ensure the scheduled servicing requirements are meet by the workshop team and documented
  • Allocate and prioritise services and breakdowns
  • Responsible for part ordering and stock management within budget
  • Provide on-site training and guidance to junior staff
  • Keep a log / record of all scheduled services and breakdowns
  • Organise the logistics and transportation of machinery between farms
  • Ensure staff adhere to the OH&S and food safety / quality policies and procedures; any deviation from these must be addressed with the Operations Manager or Technical Team
  • Monitoring equipment and processes, reporting any faults or damage directly to the Maintenance & Mechanics Manager
  • Monitoring products daily to ensure compliance to specifications; addressing any deviations with the relevant line staff if applicable or escalating the issue to the Harvest Supervisor
  • Ensure all QC paperwork (if required) is completed, raising any food safety or quality issues found with the Operations Manager or Technical Department
  • Ensure that employees only complete tasks for which they have had the relevant training
  • Raise any gaps identified in an employee s skills with the Maintenance and Mechanics Manager
  • Ensure that staff who are conducting Critical Control Point (CCP) and Critical Quality Point (CQP) checks have been trained by the Technical Department prior to conducting these checks
  • Ensure full compliance at all times to any procedures, instruction and other training which has been provided
  • Assist in the investigation of customer complaints / non conformances and implementation of corrective actions as required

  • Qualified diesel mechanic with 10+ years hands on experience
  • Demonstrated organisational and time management skills, such as Front Line management
  • An understanding of quality assurance principles and standards, such as HACCP
  • Report writing
  • Ability to identify issues and communicate these with the Head of Field Operations
  • Previous management experience
