Our center is equipped to treat outpatients diagnostics, and therapeutic needs with caring and innovative team of healthcare professionals dedicated to enthusiastically improving the health and quality of life of the people we serve.

We are looking for experienced Sonographer, relying basically on own knowledge and judgment along with supervision by an on-site Radiologist, being competent in areas of OBs, Gynae, and Breast, in addition to Abdomen and all general radiology imaging necessary to complete general ultrasound examinations independently.

Performs work related duties as assigned or as required. Role will take care of taking patients for sonographic evaluation and associated sonographic duties.

This is a full time position:

Monday - Friday 830am-1730pm, Saturdays on rotation
Central Location next to train station and easily accessible via public transport.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Prepares patients for ultrasound examination.

Prepares patients for physicians.

Explains procedures to the patient prior to the commencement of the testing and provides patient education related to medical ultrasound.

Explains procedures to assure cooperation and optimum test results.

Ensures the appropriate consent and/or declinations are obtained.

Conducts ultrasonic diagnostic procedures and records anatomical, pathological and/or physiological data for interpretation by a radiologist.

Assists physician during invasive procedures requiring ultrasound guidance.

Maintains patient confidentiality.

Maintains patient charts and records, and records and processes sonographic data and other pertinent observations made during the procedure for presentation to the interpreting physician.

Maintains proper operation of the ultrasound equipment. Recognizes equipment malfunctions and takes appropriate corrective action.

Responsible for maintaining adequate inventory of ultrasound supplies.

Maintain archives/records scans.

Maintains effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public.

Acts in a non-directive, non-judgmental manner, recognizing an individual's religious, ethical, and moral opinions/beliefs.

Recognizes ethical, legal and professional issues inherent in providing care to pregnant women.

Comply with safety and security training and OSHA standards/regulations.

Complete all required Compliance Training.

Participates in staff development, in-service workshops and educational activities.

Participates in professional development activities and meetings

Maintains professional affiliations.

Minimum Qualifications

Effective verbal and written communication skills.

An individual must possess a current/valid certification in diagnostic ultrasound.

Satisfactory completion of one of the following; at least two (2) years in Allied Health Educational Program and one (1) year on-the-job training in ultrasonography, or completion of an approved ultrasonography educational [website] or be eligible for certification the Australian Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer.

Must provide evidence of continuing education credits to fulfill accreditation requirements.

Ability to understand and become knowledgeable of release of information standards, policies & procedures and AHPRA regulations and to complete work in compliance of these and other standards.

Knowledge of handling medical records and of basics of scanning and uploading files, downloading and executing is a Plus

Education/Training/Experience:

Ability to understand and become knowledgeable of release of information standards, policies & procedures and AHPRA regulations and to complete work in compliance of these and other standards including having the right of work in Australia.

Accreditation with the Australasian Sonographer Accreditation Registry (ASAR)

The ability to work both autonomously and within a team environment

Excellent communication skills, strong patient focus and high level of attention to detail

Knowledge of handling medical records and of basics of scanning and uploading files, downloading and executing is a Plus

Experience working in Radiology is requisite:
High School Diploma (GED) required
Minimum 2 year work as an independent Sonographer, prior experience in private practice preferred.
